I've wanted to live overseas since I was 8 after I read a biography on Lillian Thrasher and her work in Egypt. I read other biographies on other amazing missionary women such as: Amy Carmichael, Mary Slessor, Elizabeth Elliott, Beth Green etc. after reading these books I told my mom that when I grew up I was going to move to Africa, build an orphanage and live there for the rest of my life and probably die there. I went to China in 2011 for ten days with a group of 12 people to work with the organization called: Bring Me Hope. There God really broke my heart for orphans as I fell in love with the little boy that I was placed with and I heard his story. All of our group was really touched and from that trip came Lighthouse China Foundation.

My next mission trip was in 2013 when I went to Ireland with my dance ministry team to work with DCM, there I learned that sometimes things don't go as planned but hand it over to God and He'll show you exactly what to do and it will all turn out according to His plan.

In April of 2013 my mom went to work at a midwifery center in Port-Au-Prince, while there she met the directors of Maranatha and through a long series of events in January of 2014 I headed to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to start a dance program at Maranatha Children's Ministries preschool not completely sure what all I was getting into. I quickly fell in love with the country, the staff, my directors and their family and the children. 

I'll be writing about my life here in Haiti and whatever that entails. I do apologize now for bad grammar or pronunciation as I will probably end up writing whatever is on my mind and I'm horrible with grammar. I hope this blog helps you to see through this dance teachers eyes, hear my heart and to see God's hand and plan.
